Assistant Property Manager
DePaul is hiring a full‑time Assistant Property Manager in Rochester, NY. Working under the Property Manager, you’ll support resident paperwork, manage tenancy processes, and oversee site operations. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with property and accounting teams to complete resident paperwork for move‑in/ move‑out and rent rolls. Assume full operational responsibilities in the PM’s absence: tenant issues, leasing, occupancy, physical plant maintenance, security, and community liaison. Collect rent through various payment methods and maintain accurate records. Generate and send required notices (120, 90, 60, 30 days) to maintain program compliance. Conduct resident and applicant interviews for eligibility, perform new resident orientations, and conduct move‑in and move‑out inspections. Enforce lease agreements and community rules in accordance with Fair Housing laws. Monitor tenant balances, prepare past‑due notices, assist with the eviction process, and coordinate rent payment arrangements. Process monthly lease renewals and coordinate recertifications for affordable housing properties. Maintain accurate tenant file systems and complete physical filings into tenant charts. Assist with property audits, regulatory inspections, and preparation for audits. Provide outstanding customer service to residents, prospects, vendors, contractors, and staff. Perform any additional duties as requested by the Property Manager. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in multifamily property management, especially Section 8 or affordable housing, is strongly preferred. Marketing and/or leasing experience. Bookkeeping experience and knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of Great Plains Accounting and Yardi preferred; experience with a New York State driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to physically inspect residential units. Preferred certifications: Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Credit Compliance Professional (C3P), Tax Credit Compliance Specialist (TaCCs). Benefits
