Hornblower is seeking an IT Technician for our NYC Ferry operation in Brooklyn. Salary $24 per hour. Description

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody Hornblower's RESPECT Service System. Candidates will be responsible for providing technical support for NYC Ferry to clients and the business. The IT Technician will assist with maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting all IT equipment on land and vessels, including maintaining ticket vending machines. They will install, configure, and repair hardware, applications, migrations, security updates, and the like. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and time management skills in addition to IT and networking skills. This is an in-person role in Brooklyn NY. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Make service calls to maintain and repair ticket vending machines Inspect machines and meters to determine causes of malfunctions and fix minor problems such as jammed bills, coins or paper tickets Clean and provide preventive maintenance to parts Maintain records of machine maintenance and repair Replace malfunctioning parts, using hand tools, soldering irons, and diagrams Order parts needed for machine repairs Disassemble and assemble machines, according to specifications and using hand and power tools Performing timely recognition, isolation, resolution and follow-up of submitted help desk tickets Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktop hardware and peripherals as well as network, cameras and audio equipment on boats and offices Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows 10 and 11 and desktop applications Installing, configuring, and repairing desktop and network printers Assisting with security-related updates or patches Creating and updating help desk documents Land and Vessel maintenance on IT equipment Troubleshooting devices on all equipment in operation Assist with Installing cabling, equipment, and other required devices Assist with computer/network configuration, deployments, and migrations Other job duties as assigned Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. 1 - 3 Years experience. Knowledge of using a multi-meter to test for proper electrical voltage. Basic knowledge of Office 365 suite. Basic IT and networking skills preferred. Ability to prioritize, schedule, coordinate and manage a variety of activities and projects. Strong customer service orientation is a must. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with end users both over the phone and in person. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong command of the English language is a requirement. Familiarity with the correct use of technical terms. Ability to quickly learn new systems and software applications. Must be willing to obtain CompTIA A+ certification within 6 months of being hired.
