Position Summary:
The Data Systems and Media Specialist is responsible for managing the district's critical data systems and facilitating seamless integration of district applications. Additionally, this role oversees the district's digital media presence, including social media platforms, to effectively communicate the district's vision, achievements, and events to the community. This position is vital in ensuring accurate data management and enhancing TCUSD's online engagement. The position reports directly to the Technology Director.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Systems Management:
- PowerSchool Administration:
- Manage and maintain the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) and all power school related issues for staff.
- Coordinate integrations with key district applications such as transportation systems, Career and Technical Education (CTE) tools, and other third-party platforms.
- Work with vendors to ensure secure and efficient data synchronization.
- Create and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions
- Perform system updates and troubleshoot issues
- Database and Account Maintenance:
- Create, update, and manage staff and student accounts in Active Directory.
- Maintain and audit district databases, including Infinite Visions, to ensure data integrity and security.
- Implement best practices for data protection and perform regular audits.
- Technical Support:
- Provide support and training for district staff regarding PowerSchool, Infinite Visions, and other integrated systems.
- Assist in resolving technical issues and generating necessary reports for state and district use.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain thorough documentation of processes, policies, and procedures for all district data systems.
- Generate detailed reports for state submissions and district-level decision-making.
Digital Media Management:
- Social Media Strategy:
- Oversee TCUSD's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and others.
- Develop and execute a digital media strategy to promote district achievements, events, and announcements.
- Website and Digital Outreach:
- Collaborate with district departments to update and maintain TCUSD's website and ensure accessibility and relevance.
- Implement strategies to increase online engagement and strengthen TCUSD's digital presence.
- Work closely with web developers, vendors, and district stakeholders to ensure the new website meets functionality, security, and user experience requirements.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Track key performance metrics for social media and digital campaigns.
- Use analytics to optimize content strategies and ensure alignment with the district's goals.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of two years of experience in database management, IT support, social media management, or digital communications.
- Experience on SIS, Active Directory, and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with Infinite Visions or other financial databases.
- Experience integrating third-party applications with SIS platforms.
- Expertise in digital content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
- Analytical skills to track and improve social media and digital campaign performance.
- Based at the TCUSD District Office, with occasional travel to school sites for technical support or event coverage.
- Collaborative work with district leadership, educators, IT staff, and community stakeholders.
