Base pay range
$18.00/hr - $19.00/hr
Pay rate: $19.00 per hour
Location: Shelby, NC 28150
Duration: 3+ months
Schedule: 1st/ M-F 830am-530pm
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
- Update patient information and ensure specimen integrity.
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain venipuncture or other specimen collection (e.g., urine, fecal) in a clear and courteous manner.
- Use straight and butterfly needles as required.
- Understand all physician orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens based on test orders.
- Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of phlebotomy experience required.
