Job Description Wilsonart is seeking an experienced payroll specialist to be responsible for all payroll‑related tasks. In this role, your responsibilities will include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

Primary Responsibilities

Work with the HR department on day to day tasks to ensure employees are paid in a timely and accurate fashion. Assist HR team with payroll related issues as needed.

Works directly with employees to resolve outstanding payroll inquiries

Participates in payroll system upgrades and implementations

Ensures amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to various accounts correctly

Monitors federal, state and local taxes, social security contributions, and employee benefit contributions, garnishments, and other deductions to ensure accuracy of individual pay

Assist with audits such as internal/external, state/province, federal, etc. for correctly classifying and paying employees

Analyze tax reports and related documentation

Documents payroll processes and procedures

Works independently within defined policies and procedures

Administering of garnishment/collection orders received by the State and government authorities.

Audit, reconcile and record employee expenses using Concur

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years’ experience preparing and processing (U.S.) multi‑state weekly payroll tasks

Knowledge of principles and practices of payroll, bookkeeping, and accounting procedures.

Familiar with U.S. state and federal payroll and tax regulations

Experience with payroll software – preferably Dayforce/Ceridian, payroll software implementation experience is a plus.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality, relate to others in a courteous manner, and provide exemplary customer service

Familiar with general HR & payroll wage and hour laws, tax laws in the U.S. and various payroll and HR functions and processes

Experience reviewing and analyzing - payroll variances, IRS Forms W-4, wage garnishments, deduction set-ups, and all other pertinent information

Excellent analytical skills

Ability to work under tight deadlines

Associate Degree in Accounting or relevant field or equivalent experience

Experience with Canadian payroll preparation/processing is a plus.

Experience with 3rd party payroll services providers is a plus if in addition to in‑house processin
