Position Overview

The Store Layout & Design Manager leads the planning, design, and optimization of retail store layouts to deliver efficient operations and an exceptional customer experience. This hands-on role blends creative design with project management and technology implementation. The ideal candidate combines strong visual, analytical, and leadership skills to support both new and existing store environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain floor plans, fixture layouts, and planograms aligned with merchandising and operational goals.

Lead design planning for new stores, remodels, relocations, and resets.

Collaborate with Construction, Merchandising, and Operations to ensure accuracy and timely project completion.

Evaluate and implement software tools to enhance design efficiency and data accuracy.

Analyze store performance and space productivity to drive continuous improvement.

Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical and design capabilities.

Maintain brand, ADA, and safety standards across all store layouts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Retail Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of experience in retail design, store planning, or space management.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit; experience with planogram or space planning software (e.g., Blue Yonder, Relex, SmartDraw).

Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proven leadership experience and ability to collaborate across departments.

Solid understanding of retail operations, P&L concepts, and merchandising processes.

Skills & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; database experience preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information.

Basic knowledge of construction or fixture installation a plus.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based with occasional store visits; some travel required.

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

May require occasional weekend or extended hours based on project timelines.
