New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. You’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. You will help to maintain a secure environment at a shelter location by conducting regular patrols and remaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents. You will engage with staff and residents, offering outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting the well-being of everyone at the location. Provide customer service to residents and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, respond to emergency situations. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols. Document observations, incidents, and activities in daily reports as required by Allied Universal and site requirements. Communicate with staff and residents in a professional manner to support a welcoming and orderly environment. Assist with access control procedures, including verifying identification and monitoring entry and exit points. Support shelter staff during incidents or emergencies by providing information and assistance as directed. Minimum Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
