Subsystems Engineer Mechanical Engineering (m/f/d) Your Tasks
Define and analyze requirements for satellite/instrument structure design, considering mission goals, environmental conditions, verification, AIT, and product assurance
Develop spacecraft and instrument configurations, optimizing the design of primary, secondary, and tertiary structures in collaboration with multiple engineering teams
Design and construct lightweight mechanical structures, optical mechanisms, robotic subsystems, and opto-mechanical mounts, ensuring compliance with optical, structural, and thermal performance requirements.
Integrate system-level requirements (MTP/OMTS) into mechanical spacecraft/instrument designs, including 3D harness routing
Perform structural analysis, including gravity and moment of inertia calculations, and define structural masses
Create and maintain all technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings, integration envelopes, and interface requirement drawings (IRD) for subsystems
Your Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Professional experience in lightweight structures, differential, integral, and sandwich construction
Strong proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design
Well-organized with a proactive, team-oriented approach and excellent communication skills
High initiative, cost awareness, and the ability to identify and mitigate technical risks early in the design process
Convincing and self-assured, with a results-driven mindset
