Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an established and well-respected planning consultancy in their search for a
Senior Town Planner
to join their team in Wareham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and dynamic practice with a strong client base across the South of England. The company works on a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, rural, and mixed-use developments, offering a varied and engaging workload.
The Role: As a Senior Town Planner, you’ll play a key role in delivering high quality planning advice and managing a range of projects from initial appraisals through to submission and appeal. Working closely with clients, local authorities, and consultants, you’ll help shape development proposals and contribute to the continued success and growth of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage planning applications, appeals, and appraisals
Provide clear and commercially focused planning advice to clients
Undertake site assessments and contribute to planning strategies
Build and maintain relationships with local authorities and stakeholders
Mentor junior members of the team where appropriate
About You:
MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership)
Minimum of 3–5 years’ planning experience within consultancy, developer, or local authority background
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Strong understanding of the UK planning system and current policy context
Confident managing projects independently and liaising directly with clients
