Position Summary Position: Business Intelligence Specialist Reports to: Continuous Improvement Manager Location: Greenville, SC
Areas of Responsibilities As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will support strategic decision‑making within our manufacturing processes. This role focuses on leveraging data analytics, ERP systems, and Power BI to provide actionable insights and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing environments, deep expertise in ERP systems, hands‑on experience with Power BI, and the ability to leverage Microsoft tools to improve and automate existing processes.
Skills and Abilities
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data and identify key metrics for strategic decision‑making within the manufacturing process.
Utilize ERP systems to extract, analyze, and report on operational and financial data to support process improvements and strategy development.
Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that provide clear and actionable insights to stakeholders.
Work closely with internal teams to create customized dashboards for reporting and viewing key metrics, ensuring data transparency and accessibility across departments.
Support the leadership team with data‑driven insights to optimize manufacturing performance, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate and timely analysis of trends.
Integrate data from multiple sources with IT and business teams, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Assist in identifying areas for improvement within manufacturing processes through data analysis, working to streamline operations.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends and emerging BI tools and technologies to enhance reporting capabilities.
Qualifications Education and/or Training
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Proficient in Power BI, including the ability to design and develop complex dashboards.
Experience using Power Automate and building Power Apps.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and operational metrics.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SQL, data modeling, and other business intelligence tools.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Previous experience in strategy development or process improvement within a manufacturing setting.
Work Environment Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.
Physical Demands Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina. Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds at a time.
