Marana Health Marana Health is seeking a BH Clinical Director - Senior to join the Behavioral Health team. The BH Clinical Director - Senior provides direction to the Behavioral Health (BH) Clinical Directors and Clinical Supervisors and their respective programs and teams, and is accountable for BH program outcomes. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 13 sites in Tucson and Pima County. The following qualifications are required:

Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, DBH) in a Behavioral Health field Minimum of 7 years of progressive clinical BH experience, with at least 5 years in clinical supervision or leadership Proven experience managing cross-functional clinical teams and complex behavioral health programs Licensed as an independent practitioner with the AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LISAC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification First Aid certification (may be completed with MHC upon hire) Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire) Current Arizona drivers license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MHC)

The following qualifications are preferred:

Experience with State Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) system, AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) health plans, and community resources Experience with adult and child services

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

This position has the following supervisory responsibility:

Provides strategic leadership and oversight of departmental operations through direct reports and their teams. This includes setting and aligning departmental goals with organizational priorities, evaluating performance and program effectiveness, and ensuring optimal staffing and resource allocation to support high-quality service delivery and operational excellence.

Thorough knowledge of State, RBHA, ACC requirements. Thorough knowledge of current versions of DSM and ICD. Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides ongoing supervision of licensed and unlicensed clinical staff to ensure quality of care is present in direct services and in documentation. Provides management oversight to both adult and children programs. Responsible for Clinical Directors, Clinical Supervisors, and associated teams, including management of annual evaluations, clinical interventions, client issues or complaints, and agency issues or complaints. Responsible for the quality and quantity of work completed by assigned Clinical Directors, Clinical Supervisors, and their respective teams. Works with assigned Clinical Directors and Clinical Supervisors to ensure clinical team members identified deficits are addressed and successes reinforced. Builds effective professional relationships between Clinical Supervisors, promoting collaboration and coverage as needed to ensure the continuous ability to provide service delivery to meet the needs of the communities served. Maintains a caseload that is manageable but allows for maintenance of director responsibilities regarding programs, staff, and clients. Assists Clinical Directors, Clinical Supervisors, and staff when appropriate in the navigation of the RHBA/ACC systems. Leads Clinical Directors and Clinical supervisors to ensure quality clinical documentation is accurate and properly recorded. Oversees training requirements to include RBHA/ACC changes in process or documentation. Assists in the preparation of all agency audits by reviewing charts and ensuring timely assessments, service plans, and service delivery. Provides direct client services consisting of therapeutic services to individuals, groups, and family members, ensuring contact and documentation are maintained according to guidelines. Works in tandem with other Clinical Director(s) and Clinical Supervisors to forge a solid team aimed at quality services for clients and exceptional leadership and mentorship for staff. Works collaboratively with the Behavioral Health Quality (BHQ) team to identify and address areas of improvement related to documentation in the clinical record. Provides oversight of ongoing chart audits to ensure quality care is documented in a timely and thorough manner, meeting all guidelines set forth by Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), RBHA, and ACC. Mentors subordinate BH leadership to ensure that offered group therapies are appropriate, useful, and discontinued when appropriate, and that new groups are developed as needed. Works with client or system requirements as needed. Works under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer to facilitate proper BH Department compliance with State, RBHA, ACC, and organizational policies, regulations, and requirements. Actively collaborates with BH leadership and staff for the resolution of conflicts to ensure staff are focused on responsibilities, client requirements, and maintaining a productive work environment. Acts as a liaison for community and contracting agencies including attending meetings, completing information reports, or responding to other issues or needs. Oversees clinical requirements for submission of contract deliverables, utilization, and quality management requirements. Attends to client crises as requested, including assessing crisis and ensuring incidents are documented and appropriate action is taken. Oversees and manages after-hours crisis phone line scheduling clinician rotation and acting as administrator on-call as needed to provide support and guidance. Maintains collaboration with local resources, including court personnel, Marana Police Department (MPD), Sheriffs Department, ALTCS, DES, as well as other Tucson agencies and institutions such as hospitals, the Crisis Response Center, Community Wide Crisis Line, and the Mobile Assessment Crisis (MAC) Team. Participates in office based, community, home based, and crisis intervention services as necessary. Ensures quality and timely assessments, treatment planning, treatment reviews, RBHA/ACC documentation, discharge planning, and aftercare planning for clients treated. Accommodates client schedules when providing direct service. Provides appropriate referrals to other community agencies as required. Works collaboratively with psychiatric staff, ensuring all appropriate clients receive medication monitoring, psychiatric evaluations, and Primary Care Provider (PCP) involvement. Follows professional and ethical practices when working with clients, client records, families, and community personnel. Maintains confidentiality of client and family information. Works effectively with all clients and families to promote trust while providing excellent customer service within a recovery model of care. Understands and implements Trauma Informed Care approach to service delivery. Acts as a willing and effective liaison between BH and other departments, staff, and community members to promote trust, productivity, and growth as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care. Utilizes appropriate channels for reporting, discussing, and solving problems or concerns. Discusses staff concerns with staff members and works for resolutions at the lowest level possible, involving senior management and Human Resources when necessary. Maintains a thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and participates in policy and procedure updates as required. Participates in intradepartmental and interdepartmental meetings, client staffings, case reviews, staff development, and policy and procedure development as appropriate. Assumes responsibility for understanding guidelines and procedures for all BH contracts and requests clarification when required. Observes applicable state and federal laws, assumes responsibility for knowledge of laws, and requests clarification if necessary. Maintains general BH and education standards and keeps abreast of BH and educational trends by reading and attending in-services and workshops as appropriate. May provide supervision for second year Masters level Therapist interns. Responsible for timely completion of privileging process for all assigned clinical staff. Uses appropriate incident reporting procedures when documenting unsafe or problematic incidents involving patients, clients, and staff. Completes internal and external Incident Reports accurately and follows procedures completely, ensuring the BHQ Team is actively involved.
