Windows Domain Administrator

to support our customer at the United States Naval Observatory (USNO) in the deployment and maintenance of its Precise Time and Astrometry Network. Background

The USNO is responsible for the production and dissemination of precise parameters concerning time, star positions, and the earth's rotation to DoD, intelligence community, NASA, NOAA, and other USG and international users. A reliable, secure, maintainable USNO network is crucial to producing and disseminating these data products. The Successful Candidate Will Provide direct technical support to the Precise Time, Celestial Reference Frame, Earth Orientation, and DevSecOps Departments at USNO. Work with USNO Information Assurance staff to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements. Prepare and maintain associated documentation. The position will be located at the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington D.C. Partial telework may be permitted in accordance with applicable Navy and Observatory guidance in effect at the time. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. CPI offers an excellent package of benefits. Qualifications/Education/Experience

7+ years of experience managing and configuring Microsoft Windows Server environments Experience configuring, patching, and hardening domain environments (AD, DNS, GPO, ADFS) Proficient in Active Directory administration, FSMO roles, replication, and OU management Knowledge of PKI, CAC/ALT-token authentication, and certificate lifecycle management Experience with WSUS and SCCM/MECM for patching and compliance management Familiarity with VMware vSphere for virtual machine management Experience with DISA STIGs, SCAP benchmarks, and ACAS/Nessus vulnerability remediation Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting Understanding of Kerberos, LDAP, and Multi-Factor Authentication concepts Experience integrating systems with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds) Strong troubleshooting skills for authentication, policy, and certificate issues Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall concepts CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 certification (required) Microsoft certifications and DoD cybersecurity experience highly desirable Active Top Secret Security Clearance U.S. citizenship is required for DoD contract About CPI
