The George Washington's School of Nursing (GW Nursing) drives innovation and improvements in health care worldwide through the education of compassionate nurses, esteemed educators and researchers, entrepreneurial leaders, and influential policy experts. The Enrollment Management unit of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at GW's School of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Director, Admissions, School of Nursing. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, the Assistant Director, Admissions uses discretion and decision-making in the daily administrative processes related to admissions and enrollment management for GW Nursing. This position represents the University on-campus and off-campus to build relationships and analyze data to manage a recruitment territory, evaluate admissions applications, and make recommendations regarding admissions decisions. Core responsibilities include executing strategic recruitment initiatives, analyzing recruitment data, holistically evaluating applications, making recommendations for admissions decisions, determining eligibility for special admissions programs, and presenting recommendations to the final review authority. The Assistant Director of Admissions will represent and market GW Nursing academic programs through face-to-face meetings and virtual information sessions, phone calls with prospective students, conference participation, interviews, college fairs, open houses, and department events. This position may assist with creating, developing, and executing marketing initiatives to support the admissions efforts. The Assistant Director, Admissions must have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing demands in a timely and conscious manner. Serve as liaison to the admissions committees and participate in training committee members on best practices. Manage administrative admissions and enrollment functions to include, but not limited to, developing and maintaining a recruitment schedule that supports the marketing initiatives; data entry of contacts in Salesforce to track ROI; confers with admissions and enrollment management staff and other school-university constituents.
Responsibilities Include
Plays an integral role in student recruitment, application processing, and enrollment coaching. Provides information on the program content, the application process, scholarship requirements, and appropriate financial aid options. Develops leads, encourages prospects to flow through the enrollment funnel from prospect to student by employing a consultative recruitment approach; works to retain admitted students through enrollment. Provides excellent customer service to prospective students and other internal and external constituents, responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person. Reviews and verifies data to ensure integrity; exports and uploads applications for GW Nursing admissions; resolves any errors or issues generated by system transfer processes. Critically evaluates applicants and applications and makes or recommends admissions decisions as appropriate to program deans and directors. Ensures that GW Nursing admission website, program materials, and other recruitment content reflect current admission policies. Communicates scholarship opportunities to prospective students. May conduct some travel.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
