Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic individual for a
Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR)
role at Alkermes. This opportunity focuses on executing evidence‑generation plans to support the company’s advanced pipeline program in sleep‑wake disorders. The role reports to the Head of HEOR and may require a hybrid work model with a minimum of 60% onsite presence in the Waltham, MA office.
Responsibilities
Execute the HEOR plan for the alixorexton program across patient populations including narcolepsy type 1, narcolepsy type 2, and idiopathic hypersomnia.
Identify and address evidence gaps, prioritizing real‑world studies to inform treatment patterns, disease burden, patient‑reported outcomes, and unmet needs.
Develop and deliver high‑quality HEOR evidence and value communication strategies to support optimal access and reimbursement aligned with the program objectives.
Gather and synthesize insights from payers, health‑care professional thought leaders, and HEOR experts.
Collaborate with internal teams on publication strategies to ensure timely dissemination of HEOR evidence through conferences and peer‑reviewed manuscripts.
Select and manage external research partners to ensure high‑quality and timely study delivery.
Core Experience
Developing budget impact models (BIMs) and cost‑effectiveness analyses (CEAs).
Conducting indirect treatment comparisons (ITCs).
Developing Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) dossiers and pre‑approval information exchange (PIE) slide decks.
Generating real‑world evidence (RWE) from claims data, electronic health records, registries, chart reviews, and qualitative research.
Qualifications Basic Requirements
MA/MS degree in HEOR or related field and 8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in a HEOR role with direct research experience.
OR PhD/PharmD in HEOR or related field and 5+ years of similar experience.
Preferred Requirements
Strong record of high‑impact publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders.
Prior experience supporting a competitive product launch.
Experience in rare disease or neurological disorders, including sleep‑wake disorders such as narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia (plus).
Excellent project management skills.
Compensation The annual base salary for this position ranges from $240,000 to $254,000. Eligibility for an annual performance pay bonus is also included. Additional benefits are offered; further details can be found on the company careers website.
