A&M's Global Transaction Tax team is composed of seasoned tax professionals experienced in providing practical tax advice to corporate and private equity buyers and sellers throughout the transaction life cycle. Our professionals have significant experience on both the buy and sell side of transactions across industries including healthcare, financial institutions, energy, environmental services, technology, and education. Responsibilities
Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches by providing timely and responsive services and work product that meets and/or exceeds client expectations. Perform due diligence, including review of tax returns, financials, and other documentation to evaluate potential tax risks and opportunities. Review and comment on tax aspects of financial models, purchase agreements, and structuring calculations. Take ownership of assigned workstreams, including creating and preserving relevant diligence work products, ensuring supervisors can timely review and provide constructive feedback of deliverables, and proactively responding to changes in workflow. Coordinate with federal, state and local, and international tax team members, as well as financial and operational due diligence team members, to timely deliver highest quality integrated work product. Begin developing and taking responsibility for managing client relationships by communicating and responding to client expectations, gathering data relevant to the engagement, and tailoring project deliverables accordingly. Qualifications
CPA, JD (with bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred), Masters in Taxation, or LLM At least 3 years of relevant experience in a mergers & acquisitions tax practice at a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or similar firm Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting Strong writing, analytical, research, Excel, and organizational skills Strong communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills Strong sense of personal motivation and ability to work with a team Ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment Benefits & Additional Information
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a discretionary annual contribution. Paid time off includes vacation, personal days, 72 hours of sick time (prorated for part-time), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days varies by tenure and role type. A&M also provides information on equal opportunity employment and policy statements by region. The salary range is $125,000 - $150,000 annually, with a discretionary bonus program based on various factors including individual and firm performance.
