Overview
Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations role at New Jersey Institute of Technology. The mission of NJIT’s University Advancement is to cultivate understanding, engagement, and support of alumni, friends, and corporate and foundation partners to secure philanthropic resources for the university’s educational mission. Responsibilities
Identify and cultivate corporate and foundation gift and grant opportunities and solicit and steward gifts and grants that advance the university’s priorities. Work closely with the Senior Executive Director, development officers, faculty, volunteers, and campus staff in preparing and soliciting letters, grant proposals, budgets, and stewardship reports to corporations and foundations. Supervise and mentor the Assistant Director of CFR and the Associate Director of CFR. Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects (minimum 75–100). Write or assist in drafting project prospectuses, proposals (including budgets), concept papers, event/meeting briefings, and progress reports. Research and cultivate prospective funders; create and implement solicitation strategies for foundations and corporations. Meet with corporate and foundation managers and executives, maintain relationships, and schedule visits for NJIT personnel with program officers. Contribute to corporate engagement strategies regarding clubs, matching gifts, site visits, stewardship plans, and solicitation plans. Plan and coordinate campus visits by prospects and prepare event briefings. Identify corporate and foundation grant opportunities and assist university personnel in program development and grants. Oversee planning, solicitation, and post-award stewardship for all assigned prospects and donors. Collaborate with faculty and staff to steward corporate- and foundation-funded programs and projects. Work extended hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and travel (25% out of state, 75% in state). Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive fundraising experience in corporate and foundation relations or related development. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Exceptional writing, speaking, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to establish and maintain relationships, manage multiple projects, make decisions, meet deadlines, and develop creative solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with Google, Raiser’s Edge, FC Search; ability to learn additional programs as needed. Education and experience prerequisites may be exempted at the university’s discretion if an equivalent combination demonstrates readiness for the position. Additional Information
Bargaining Unit: Non-Aligned Range/Band: 8 Salary Information: In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range is $110,000.00–$130,000.00 (USD). This range represents base pay and may be influenced by factors such as experience, education, and internal equity.
