Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations
Position Summary:
This position works closely with the Senior Executive Director and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to build, maintain, and expand relationships with corporations and foundations to support NJIT’s strategic priorities.
Essential Functions
Establish and manage long‑range strategies and goals of the CFR department, ensuring effective, efficient, and coordinated fundraising strategies.
Identify and qualify corporate and foundation prospects, maintain prospect lists, and compile research profiles.
Prepare and submit letters of interest, concept papers, proposals, and other solicitation materials; solicit grants and gifts up to $250,000.
Manage relationships with a portfolio of 50+ corporate, foundation, and institutional prospects capable of grants and gifts up to $250,000.
Maintain and update data on institutional priority projects, faculty grant activity, rankings, institutional designations, corporate engagement activity, and other metrics/data.
Assist in determining corporate engagement strategy regarding clubs, matching gifts, site visits, stewardship plans, and gift/grant solicitations.
Oversee and coordinate all corporate sponsorships for signature university events and other ad‑hoc events.
Assist with planning, outreach, and management of corporate engagement projects and events.
Coordinate and prepare briefing materials for meetings, visits, and events between corporate/foundation representatives and NJIT stakeholders.
Provide support for office‑wide fundraising campaigns, events, and projects as needed.
Willingness to work extended hours; evening and weekend meetings, special event attendance, and travel (25% out of state, 75% in state).
Annual goals for contacts, proposals, gifts/grants, and new prospects established with the Senior Executive Director.
Prerequisite Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher and at least three years of related experience, preferably in higher education or a non‑profit setting.
At least 2–3 years of experience in corporate and foundation relations preferred.
Demonstrated teamwork skills in academic environments with deans, faculty, staff, and institutional giving officers.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadline‑driven responsibilities.
Excellent computer, database, and research skills.
Very strong relationship‑building and communication skills, both written and verbal.
University discretion allows substitution of education and experience requirements if a candidate demonstrates equivalent preparation.
Salary: $70,089.77–$131,210.76 (annual) – base pay only, excluding incentives.
FLSA: Exempt, Full‑Time.
