Job Summary Working closely with the legal department, you will identify and oversee legal matters across the company, focusing on labor & employment law, privacy, sustainability, and general corporate responsibilities. Your role is critical in supporting compliance, risk management, and corporate responsibility initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Labor & Employment Law:
Advise on hiring practices, employee relations, performance management, investigations, discipline, terminations, wage‑and‑hour compliance; partner with HR to develop compliant policies; provide proactive guidance on workforce strategy; draft and review workplace policies; manage disputes and coordinate with outside counsel.
Privacy & Data Protection:
Advise on CCPA/CPRA and state regulations; develop internal privacy policies and notices; collaborate with IT and compliance on breach response; stay current on evolving privacy legislation.
Sustainability:
Provide legal support for sustainability disclosures and initiatives; collaborate across functions on compliance frameworks and reporting; advise on sustainability communications; familiarity with EPR regulations and California GHG reporting preferred.
General Legal:
Support cross‑functional divisions; monitor litigation trends and emerging regulations; mentor team members; manage disputes and litigation; synthesize case status summaries for management.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
3+ years of legal experience with a strong focus on labor & employment law.
Knowledge of privacy/data protection and sustainability matters.
In‑house or law firm experience preferred.
Exceptional legal judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
