is seeking an

Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon

to join our dynamic team at a bustling level 1 academic trauma center. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in orthopedic trauma care and a passion for teaching and research within an academic setting. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex cases in a high-energy environment while contributing to the education of orthopedic residents and fellows.

Position Details

Level 1 trauma center - call coverage shared among group

Monday - Friday, 1 day clinic weekly, 1 block day, weekend call variable

IU Health Methodist Hospital

~20% Outpatient / 80% inpatient

Responsibilities include:

Adult patient population - serving level 1 trauma center downtown Indianapolis

Proficiency in managing and surgically treating pelvis and acetabular fractures as well as expertise in repairing articular fractures and long bone injuries

Qualifications

DO or MD

Fellowship trained in Orthopaedic Trauma

ABOS BE/BC in the United States

Ability to acquire Indiana medical license

Graduating fellows and experienced BC physicians encouraged to apply

Construction for the new hospital is well underway and set to open in late 2027. It will feature three 16-story towers with 864 beds. IU School of Medicine is also constructing a medical education and research building directly east of the new hospital.
