Responsibilities

  • Own daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all transactions.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including billing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Track inventory, reconcile accounts, and manage invoicing processes.
  • Reconcile payroll benefits, employee reimbursements, and credit card accounts.
  • Schedule and process ACH transactions and support payroll review.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports.
  • Perform reconciliations across all general ledger accounts, investigating variances and making adjustments as needed.
  • Partner with executives to prepare budgets, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable insights.
  • Produce ad-hoc financial reports and analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and forecasting within the accounting function.

Must-Have Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger management and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a sales‑driven environment with exposure to commissions and revenue flow.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to take full ownership of accounting operations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy in all financial matters.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in wholesale, distribution, or related commercial industries.
  • Familiarity with expense management platforms (e.g., Concur).
  • Exposure to preparing reviewed financial statements for external CPA firms.
  • Comfort analyzing profit and loss statements to optimize cash flow.
  • Experience building systems and processes to improve efficiency within accounting departments.
