Overview
Web Software Developer for Gateway role at Barrios Technology. We are looking for a candidate passionate about human space exploration, with talent, teamwork, and energy to help us deliver systems enabling the exploration of space while benefiting people on Earth. This position supports NASA JSC Engineering's EX5 Branch; the Toolchain team will ensure artifacts are in place, track them efficiently, and develop software web tools to store, access, and report on Gateway artifacts. Have software development background; more than trivial experience in web programming and integration Be a full-stack developer familiar with front end, middleware, and database Demonstrate ability to work with various languages and frameworks Have experience with databases (e.g., MongoDB) and REST API Work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse and distributed team Troubleshoot nontrivial applications Work in a team environment Maintain professional relationships with NASA customers, other NASA support contractors, and the Gateway HALO team Provide coordinated support between engineering and other organizations/programs Perform other duties as required Required Education/Experience/Skills
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area Experience collecting/understanding stakeholder needs React experience strongly desired JavaScript/TypeScript is mandatory Proficiency with Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) is required Enthusiastic, self-starter who can understand and absorb new concepts quickly Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills with internal and external customers Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with limited supervision Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
Preference for onsite availability but remote work may be considered based on qualifications and operational requirements Previous experience working with NASA Node.js and Docker experience Ability to configure own environment utilizing Docker Experience with CM tools such as DOORs Next Gen (DNG) or Windchill is desired Experience with SE&I requirements or verification workflows Essential Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation Post-offer drug testing as part of Barrios Drug Free Workplace policy Ability to sit for extended periods; may require lifting up to 25 lbs Mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary Office environment with potential indoor/outdoor tasks Standard office equipment and regular attendance per schedule Flexibility to work outside normal schedule to meet peak periods Ability to work in a team atmosphere; professional behavior to promote productivity Grooming and dress appropriate for the position without safety risk Possible commuting/travel to other installations as needed Equal Employment Opportunity
