Responsibilities
Safely collect blood samples via venipunctures, heel-sticks, and finger sticks.
Ensure quality of blood samples and verify patient identification.
Assure patient safety and comfort by following established standards.
Adhere to Customer Service Excellence.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED
Passed an accredited course including clinical experience or have 1 year of continuous phlebotomy experience
License and Certification:
Phlebotomy Certification preferred
License Requirements: N/A
Age and Care
Age-specific care provided for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Computer proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Outlook
Meditech and Epic (if applicable); Performance Manager/NetLearning
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
Ability to work independently and make independent decisions when warranted
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to function as a team player
Flexibility, integrity, and ability to follow written and oral instructions
Other Requirements
Patient and customer relations, computer literacy
Ability to perform venipuncture and process lab samples for in-house and reference lab testing
Operate simple medical laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuge)
