Position:
Quality Assurance Technician I Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for performing daily quality activities in the plant, including but not limited to process audits, GMP audits, various in-process or laboratory testing to ensure every ingredient and finished product meets specifications. The Quality Technician identifies quality issues, reports them to the appropriate person, and initiates corrective actions. What does it take to be a QA Technician I?
Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred 1 year of experience supporting plants and assessing the effectiveness of plant quality and food safety programs Science or related background or lab experience preferred Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to problem solve in variable situations Ability to work well with others and independently Knowledge of basic lab equipment (e.g., water activity, viscometers) Basic math, record-keeping and computer skills What you’ll do as a QA Technician I
Monitor, inspect, and test products in-process or in the lab; ensure products meet all specifications; record information and report discrepancies Monitor calibration of measuring equipment and operation of metal detectors; report problems immediately Perform formula and process audits and document results Monitor adherence to food safety and quality programs (GMPs, Food Safety Plan); report problems to Lead/Supervisor Perform environmental swabbing as scheduled Perform other duties as assigned by management Assist in investigation of out-of-spec products Create a safe, inclusive work environment where all team members are treated with respect Work in environments with potential allergens (nuts, etc.) as business needs require Physical demands & work environment

Stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk and hear; climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed Lift up to 50 pounds regularly; 35 pounds frequently Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception; focus Temperature varies with season Working around heavy machinery; hearing protection may be required Possible exposure to allergens (peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy) Company-provided / Required PPE Non-slip shoes Gloves Hair net Beard net (if needed) Safety goggles / safety ear protection Additional PPE may be required Other notes
