Job Title
Customer Quality Engineer – First Shift
Pay Rate: up to $35.00/hr (OT eligible)
Location: Humboldt, TN
Hours: 40 hours/week (OT expected)
Job Summary We are seeking a
Customer Quality Engineer
to oversee manufacturing and engineering processes, ensuring the proper use of tools, materials, and procedures. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives and maintains standards for high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Manage internal audits of the quality system and drive continuous improvement.
Oversee documentation change management systems.
Participate in cross-functional teams to develop PFMEAs, control plans, and work instructions.
Perform MSA and capability studies of gages and equipment.
Address quality rejects, including customer-returned material.
Coach team members in statistical techniques and quality methods.
Assist with process improvements, data analysis, and quality audits.
Participate in customer visits and reviews.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2–5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in automotive.
Experience with FMEAs, process control plans, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Proficiency in Minitab or other statistical analysis tools.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of APQP and program management techniques.
Excellent organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (preferred).
Certified Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 or ability to attain within one year.
Demonstrated competence in quality-related statistics.
Requirements
Drug screen and background check required.
Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
