Compensation The stipend ranges from $5,405 to $6,756 total, DOE.

King’s Schools Mission & Vision Mission Statement:

Position Summary The Head Coach at King’s Schools will provide a Christ‑centered environment where student‑athletes are empowered to grow and excel as individuals and as members of a team. The Head Coach will develop student‑athletes and assistant coaches to reach their full potential while competing and leading in a Christ‑honoring manner. The coach will use their gifts and talents to glorify God while following King’s Schools mission and vision. The Head Coach will supervise assistant coaches and provide updates to the Athletic Director.

Duties Yearly Preparation

Develop core covenant statements and objectives for the upcoming sport season.

Conduct oneself in a Christ‑like, ethical and moral manner; conduct oneself professionally, becoming a model head coach.

Oversee development of the JV and Varsity program.

Communicate with coaches at all levels and provide/receive input for success.

Stay abreast of new developments, innovative ideas, and techniques through clinics, workshops, and reading.

Promote King’s Schools athletic programs and support all other coaches and programs.

Carry out other duties as assigned by the principal and/or athletic director.

Rules and Regulations

Maintain understanding and knowledge of rules and regulations regarding the sport as presented in the WIAA Handbook, Emerald Sound Conference, and individual sport rules book.

Stay current with rule changes adopted by the National Federation and the WIAA; complete the yearly official rules clinic and encourage assistant coaches to do likewise.

Budget and Fund‑raising Management

Manage the budget to meet program needs; follow established purchase procedures alongside the Athletic Director.

Run fundraising ideas through the Athletic Director and the school business office.

In‑Season Management

Hold pre‑season staff meetings to outline covenants, goals, and program; assign staff.

Develop and assign duties to each assistant coach.

Hold one or two pre‑season meetings for all students interested in tryouts.

Attend league pre‑season coaches meeting concerning the sport.

Coaching Leadership and Player Growth

Assume full responsibility for all program phases with a Christ‑centered approach.

Ensure all assistant coaches are certified.

Teach and emphasize safety procedures and precautions‑daily turnouts and schedules.

Communicate positively and purposefully with others.

Prepare athletes mentally, physically, and spiritually for athletic contests.

Provide constructive feedback to help athletes improve.

Track inventory on uniforms and school‑owned equipment.

Maintain care of equipment and facilities; instruct athletes on proper care.

Monitor injured athletes; ensure they receive a doctor’s release before returning.

Adhere to biblical standards in all conduct areas.

Maintain confidentiality and security of information.

Communicate via TeamSnap, Teams, and Final Forms.

Send weekly email to parents with the upcoming schedule.

Lead fundraising for the program (optional).

Attend August Head of School Inservice and All‑Staff Picnic event.

Player Growth and Development

Demand ethical and exemplary conduct; emphasize sportsmanship and fair play.

Apply discipline in a firm, redemptive, and God‑centric manner.

Provide constructive feedback, holding students accountable through soft, repentant hearts.

Post‑Season

Attend league meetings to return nominated information.

Recommend facility maintenance and improvements.

Update records (team and individual), letter awards, and all‑league standings.

Plan and execute year‑end team banquet with parent help.

Organize awards night; work with Athletic Director to order special awards; request letter award certificates at least one week prior.

Plan and execute exit interviews with each player.

Participate in end‑of‑year performance review meeting with Athletic Director.

Systematically check equipment immediately following the last contest.

Equipment Inventory

Inventory all equipment within thirty (30) days from season end.

Plan and complete equipment and purchase list for following year with the Athletic Director.

Summer Season

Defined as the June‑July period.

Lead sport‑specific youth summer camp planning and execution.

Attend professional development coach clinics or seminars approved by the Athletic Director.

Out‑of‑Season

Defined as August 1st to start of fall season for WIAA sports through May 31st.

Supervisory role only during this time; no sport‑specific coaching allowed.

Assume responsibility for WIAA rules throughout entire program.

Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assistant coaches, volunteer coaches, and participants.

Essential Qualifications Christ Centered

Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.

Committed Christian dedicated to continued spiritual growth; evidenced through daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc.

Prayerfully seeks God’s will in own life and ministry at CRISTA.

Engages ministry, staff, and colleagues through prayer, participation, devotionals, and other spiritual practices.

Affirms, aligns, and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).

Conducts themselves in a manner reflecting well on CRISTA Ministries and aligning with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and CCC.

Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.

Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.

Experience Previous Tennis Coaching Experience.

Licensure / Certification V‑an certification (if needed).

Software / Equipment Knowledge None specified.

Other Considerations

Hold a valid CPR/1st Aid card and keep abreast of latest safety information for athletes in competition.

Meet or exceed WIAA coaching standards as published in the WIAA Handbook or in the King’s Schools Coaches Handbook.

Understand and know King’s Schools philosophy and goals; abide by the King’s Schools Athletic Handbook and King’s High School Knight Guide.

Preferred Qualifications Previous Tennis Coaching Experience.
