The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will support the University of Toledo, University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) by delivering value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization and providing strategic and operational guidance to ensure effective planning and implementation of people initiatives. This role serves as an advisor to leadership, focusing on employee relations, talent development, and workforce planning while ensuring compliance with university and clinical policies. This position collaborates with HR leadership and functional teams to support business leaders in driving HR-related initiatives, enhancing employee engagement, and promoting a positive workplace culture. The HRBP will work to support and advise on talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and labor relations. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP interacts with assigned units to maintain a level of business acumen about the units\' goals, culture, and functions. Responsibilities

Support and advise on talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and labor relations. Collaborate with HR leadership and functional teams to drive HR-related initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture. Provide strategic and operational guidance to ensure effective planning and implementation of people initiatives. Serve as an advisor to leadership on employee relations, talent development, and workforce planning, ensuring compliance with policies. Build partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services aligned with business objectives. Maintain business acumen regarding goals, culture, and functions of assigned units. Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources, including generalist or business partner roles. Experience managing complex employee relations issues with tact, diplomacy, and discretion. Experience in fast-growth and fast-paced environments, and with a distributed workforce model. Experience working with HRIS systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, and Performance Management Tools. Knowledge of and the ability to communicate HR policies and practices. Experience with Excel and other data management and analysis tools in researching and analyzing data. Demonstrated ability to partner and influence without direct people management responsibility. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences and build quick rapport. Effective organization, planning, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compensation, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, performance management, and federal/state employment laws. Self-starter who takes initiative, is inquisitive, self-engages, and achieves results based on established goals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS. Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. High emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution skills. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or advanced degree Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of project management or a project management certificate Demonstrated knowledge of change management or Change Management certification Experience in a university setting and/or health care experience Conditions of Employment
