Responsibilities
Manage and direct small to medium project design teams.
Prepare scope of work and costing documents for proposals.
Coordinate with senior engineering staff, lead junior team members, project stakeholders and other disciplines to manage project execution.
Perform professional civil engineering work including design of erosion and sediment control measures in compliance with state requirements, SPCC plans, site grading using AutoCAD Civil3D, hydraulic systems (closed and open conduits), hydrologic analyses, and stormwater management facilities.
Prepare permit applications and respond to agency comments in design.
Prepare construction drawings and specifications to implement designs.
Prepare client-ready reports and drawings.
Evaluate design options and understand cost/benefit of solutions.
Provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer registration in North Carolina, or ability to obtain within one year.
5–7 years of professional engineering experience.
Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass WSP motor vehicle screening.
Willingness to travel to project sites and business meetings as required.
Project management experience and team leadership skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Civil design software tools.
Strong technical computation capability and ability to interpret plans and specifications against regulations.
Ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior team members, with adherence to QA/QC.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills across levels.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to elicit cooperation from diverse stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulators.

Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and hours as needed.
