Full time – 8 hour shift (8:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.)
Summary Chaplain will support mission of the institution by providing timely, high quality spiritual care to patients, families, friends, and staff, providing in‑service and student instruction; participating in research, maintaining collegial relationships with other faculty/staff, and contributing to the larger community. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Required Job Qualifications
Previous Clinical Pastoral Education Training.
Graduate of Accredited College/University.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Graduate of accredited theological school.
Responsibilities
Provide routine spiritual assessment, intervention and care for neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients, families/friends, and staff as needed or assigned according to all policies and standards set forth by department guidelines.
Participate in prescribed CPE curriculum.
Provide 24‑hour on‑call as needed.
Participate in patient‑care rounds.
Lead patient/family support group(s) as appropriate and needed.
Provide in‑service education.
Attend morning on‑call report.
Maintain daily statistical records.
Maintain regular chart notes on all patients seen.
Participate in weekly departmental meeting.
