Commissioning / Controls Engineer – Job Description Key Responsibilities

Develop Commissioning Plans and Procedures:

Create comprehensive test protocols to validate the performance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and emergency backup systems. System Testing:

Perform functional testing on electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and motor control centers to ensure alignment with design specifications. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Document test results, analyze system performance data, and produce detailed reports outlining findings and any deviations. Troubleshooting and Corrective Action:

Identify and resolve issues encountered during commissioning. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to implement necessary adjustments. Quality Assurance:

Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical safety codes and standards, including NEC and NETA requirements. On-Site Coordination:

Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to effectively manage the on-site commissioning process. Technical Support:

Provide expert-level support and guidance for complex issues related to electrical systems during the commissioning phase. Documentation and Project Handover:

Prepare thorough commissioning documentation, including test records, punch lists, and final handover packages for the operations team. Travel Requirement:

Site visits may be required up to 75% of the year, depending on project needs. Required Skills and Qualifications

Solid understanding of electrical engineering concepts, including power and control systems Hands-on experience with electrical testing procedures and equipment Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for team collaboration Proficiency in data analysis tools and technical report Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Compensation and Travel Details

Pay Rate:

$45 – $60 per hour (based on experience) Per Diem:

$150-$175 per day Travel Pay:
