Overview
Loudoun County Government is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of
Public Benefits Program Specialist III . This position supports programs within the Department of Family Services, focusing on eligibility determination, interviews, caseload management, benefits processing, partnerships, program activities, and community outreach. The successful candidate will handle more difficult or complex cases without oversight. Job Summary
Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, this position performs special activities for programs within the Public Benefits area. Responsibilities include determining eligibility, conducting interviews, managing a caseload, processing and granting benefits for clients with approved applications, maintaining partnerships, overseeing program activities, submitting required reports, and performing community outreach. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the assigned area; two years of directly related experience in a social/human service setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications
Bi-lingual skills in Spanish and English. Public Benefits policy knowledge. Experience processing SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF applications and renewals. Job Contingencies And Special Requirements
Pass pre-employment background checks to include criminal, credit, Child Protective Services (CPS), and DMV. Valid driver’s license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Hold or obtain certifications required by the Department. Employment details
