About the Role We’re seeking an experienced, hands‑on Accounting Manager with a background in small to mid‑sized businesses and a strong track record in both day‑to‑day accounting and team leadership. This highly visible role reports directly to the VP of Finance and involves working across all levels of the company—from the shop floor to the C‑suite.
Oversee A/P, A/R, Payroll, and general ledger activities
Manage month‑end and year‑end close with accurate and timely reporting
Lead and mentor a small accounting team (A/R clerks, A/P staff, staff accountant)
Support cost accounting and analyze manufacturing inventory/production variances
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and manage cash flow
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Drive process improvements and increase efficiency
Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit processes
Work closely with operations, plant management, and leadership on cross‑functional financial initiatives
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
5+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role
Proven success in a hands‑on role — comfortable rolling up your sleeves
Experience working in a small to mid‑sized company, preferably manufacturing
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and ERP systems (Syteline a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
Able to work fully on‑site, with occasional Saturday coverage (every 6‑7 weeks from 7:00 a‑m–11:00 a‑m)
