Compensation Base pay range: $128,736.00/yr - $167,359.00/yr. This range is provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. EDRP: The Education Debt Reduction Program may provide student loan repayment; eligibility rules apply. Details provided by the VA Education Loan Repayment Services office. Program approvals and amounts are determined after review of the EDRP application.
Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy.
English Language: Proficient in written and spoken English.
Education: Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-accredited program (APA, PCSAS, or CPA) at the time of program completion; specialty area must be consistent with the assignment.
Appropriate licensure or eligibility: Hold a full, current, unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia, or eligible for temporary graduate psychologist appointment where applicable.
Internship and/or board certification requirements as specified (varies by eligibility path).
Note: School psychology is not eligible for appointment in VHA.
Experience and KSAs:
Experience as a professional psychologist with demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in professional psychological treatments and consultation.
Ability to apply professional psychology treatments, conduct assessments, and engage in program evaluation, teaching, and training as appropriate.
Duties
Provide a full range of psycho-diagnostic and assessment services for Veterans with PTSD and comorbid conditions.
Deliver Cognitive Processing Therapy and/or Prolonged Exposure Therapy and other established psychotherapeutic interventions (telemental health as needed).
Identify problems requiring consultation with other multidisciplinary staff and arrange appropriate referrals.
Ensure referrals to specialty programs and community resources are completed.
Function independently with full clinical privileges and maintain professional accountability for clinical findings, patient care decisions, and documentation.
Complete clinical charting timely and meet productivity standards; comply with performance measures and clinical reminders.
Provide counseling to patients, families, and significant others when appropriate; support patient independence and health through education and community referrals.
Participate in psychologist peer review and provide clinical supervision to trainees; contribute to training of students and residents as appropriate.
Work Schedule: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Telework eligible on an ad hoc basis.
