Overview The Barrow Emergency Stroke Treatment Unit (BESTU) is a specially equipped mobile emergency room that provides expert stroke care directly to patients. The mobile stroke unit includes a portable lab and CT scanner, clot-dissolving drugs, and a trained stroke team. The team connects with Barrow vascular neurologists via telemedicine. Barrow launched the unit in partnership with the Phoenix Fire Department to speed stroke diagnosis and treatment with the goal of reducing death and long-term disability.

Responsibilities
Performs CT scanning, recommends performance improvement activities, and assists in equipment and procedure evaluations in the mobile stroke setting.
Performs CT scans based on current protocols and/or radiologist recommendations. CT scans include but are not limited to: Trauma/ER, Perfusions, Routine Body, Routine Neuro, Cardiac and Interventional Procedures. Uses ALARA on every exam when selecting parameters based on patient age and habitus.
Accurately performs work-ups, such as perfusions and reconstructions, on the 3-D workstation.
Accurately and thoroughly completes hospital/department forms per protocol. Completes exams in Radnet. Completes incident reports/extravasations forms. Completes patient contrast information forms. Logs documentation into PACS as required.
Job Requirements Minimum
High School Diploma/GED
Completion of an approved ARRT or equivalent Radiologic Technologist Program
Must hold and maintain AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing (1) CRT and (2) CTCT; AZ Driver’s License
Must hold and maintain ARRT (CT) and American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers
Preferred
Three years of CT experience

Pay Range: $37.40 - $55.63 per hour
