Elementary Speech Language Pathologist in Des Plaines, IL

A long-term leave Speech Language Pathologist position is available at an elementary school in Des Plaines, IL. This full-time, contract opportunity offers two consecutive leave assignments supporting elementary-aged students with communication needs. The first leave term runs now through January 20, 2026, and the second from January 21, 2026, to April 27, 2026, with a possible extension through June 5, 2026. Key Responsibilities Support and promote language development for elementary students Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Collect, analyze, and report data on IEP goals to track student progress Collaborate effectively with IEP teams, parents, and school staff to ensure cohesive support Conduct speech and language evaluations and provide comprehensive documentation Offer Clinical Certification Certificate (CCC) fellowship supervision, if qualified

Qualifications

Licensed Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education Certification as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY preferred) Experience working in elementary school settings with caseloads of 42-50 students Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to manage a full caseload while maintaining quality patient-centered care

Hourly pay starts at $54 and is commensurate with experience.
