Overview Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Network Architect supporting a DoD Customer's Classified Network Services. The mission will include Operations, Compliance, Cyber Security, Customer Service, and Engineering. The right Senior Network Architect candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Designs and plans network communications systems.

Reviews and analyzes the existing network architecture, plans and provides designs to implement current/modern upgrades to WAN/MAN/LAN technologies.

Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network.

Provides specifications and detailed schematics and artifacts for network architecture.

Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

Conducts testing of network design.

Advises and provides client hardware requirements, configurations, Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and limitations.

Designs telecommunications circuit specifications.

Delivers service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Responsible for monitoring network statistics to ensure optimum performance.

Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure proper configuration options.

Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as management, monitoring, automation, routers, switches, firewalls, and unified communications equipment.

Clearance and Education Clearance Required: TS/SCI with ability to obtain poly.

Degree and Years of Experience:

12–15 years with BS/BA;

10–13 years with MS/MA;

7–9 years with PhD.

Key Requirements

Minimum 5 years designing VMware NSX environments utilizing Software Defined Networking (SDN) principles, physical IP/Fiber Channel networks, and routing protocols.

Information Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level III (must be attained prior to starting).

Required VMware Certified Professional-Network Virtualization (VCP‑NV) and axELOS ITIL4 professional certification.

Cloud, Automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) certificates/training may be required within 6 months of starting.

Desired Certifications

Professional certification in Cisco, Azure, VMware, and/or ITIL (e.g., CCNP Enterprise, DevNet Professional, AZ‑104).

Required Skills

Proven expertise with Cisco network platforms including management, monitoring, automation, routers, switches, firewalls, and unified communications equipment.

Experience with RMF, DODAF 2.0 standards, and Change Management Processes.

Knowledge of DISN or CANES systems.

Advanced MS Office usage, especially Visio.

Design, optimization, troubleshooting of LAN/WAN/low‑bandwidth networks protected by encryptors.

Experience with Netflow and SNMP.

Experience in virtualized environments (Azure, VMware NSX).

Automation tools and scripting (Ansible, Python).

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Requirement gathering and presentations.

Technical communication to VIP audiences.

Desired Skills

Minimum 10 years of Cisco experience, expertise with network platforms.

Experience designing Cisco ACI environments SDN, IP/Fiber Channel, routing protocols.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies for iterative network project management.

Salary Range $119,350 – $167,350. Salary is determined by factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, position requirements, federal government contract labor categories, prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
