The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding inpatient team. The selected candidate will provide advanced care for pediatric neurosurgery patients within a collaborative, high-acuity environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a robust multidisciplinary team in one of the leading pediatric programs in South Florida.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive coverage for the overnight Pediatric Neurosurgery inpatient service line

Assist in overnight surgical cases and respond to inpatient and emergency room consults

Lead morning rounds and support patient readiness for discharge, including family education and teaching

Manage patients with a wide range of clinical presentations, including:

Craniofacial conditions and craniosynostosis

Hydrocephalus and spina bifida

Cerebral palsy and Chiari malformation

Brain and spinal cord tumors

Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care

Work within a rotating schedule that includes weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed, with typical coverage hours between 8:00 pm - 5:00 am, 10:00 pm - 7:00 am, or 12:00 am - 9:00 am

Qualifications

Must hold a national certification as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Minimum of 7 years of inpatient APRN experience in Pediatric Neurosciences or certification as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner required

1-2 years of APP experience preferred; however, new graduates with a strong passion for pediatric neurosciences are encouraged to apply
