At Boys and Girls Country, our mission is to change the lives of children from families in crisis by providing a loving, nurturing Christian home and raising them to become self‑sustaining, contributing adults. We serve boys and girls ages 5–18 and support 13 young adults in our College & Career program.
We’re looking for a Manager of Alumni and Volunteer Relations to lead our efforts in building lasting connections with our alumni and volunteers — people who are vital to advancing our mission and community impact.
Position Overview The Manager of Alumni and Volunteer Relations provides strategic leadership and hands‑on management for Boys and Girls Country’s alumni engagement and volunteer programs. This individual will:
Cultivate lifelong relationships with BGC alumni.
Oversee all aspects of the volunteer experience — from recruitment and onboarding to appreciation and retention.
Build community partnerships that expand engagement opportunities.
Collaborate across departments to strengthen connections between alumni, volunteers, and donors.
Key Responsibilities Alumni Engagement
Serve as the primary relationship manager for BGC alumni.
Design and execute alumni events, communications, and engagement strategies.
Facilitate mentoring and networking opportunities between alumni and current residents.
Maintain accurate alumni data and track engagement.
Volunteer Program Leadership
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling for individual and group volunteers.
Ensure compliance with all licensing and policy requirements.
Develop volunteer training materials, manuals, and recognition programs.
Track volunteer participation and impact through CRM systems.
Collaboration & Development Support
Partner with the Development and Program teams to align engagement initiatives with fundraising and outreach goals.
Cultivate partnerships with community organizations.
Support major events, fundraising campaigns, and donor engagement involving alumni and volunteers.
Provide data and insights to inform program improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in alumni relations, volunteer management, or community engagement (nonprofit experience preferred).
Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM/database experience a plus.
Flexible schedule with availability for evening and weekend events.
