Lecturer in Veterinary Education – University of Bristol, School of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience
Bristol Veterinary School is looking to recruit a Lecturer in Veterinary Education (Senior Veterinary Clinical Demonstrator). This appointment at Bristol Veterinary School’s Langford Campus offers the opportunity to be a key player in the leadership and delivery of teaching excellence in the veterinary curriculum, with a focus on supporting veterinary undergraduates to develop the skills required for primary care clinical practice.
What will you be doing?
Lead and deliver clinical, classroom, practical and online teaching for undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students. Provide feedback, assessment and support the administration associated with formal university teaching rotations. Contribute to the development of teaching and assessment and research outputs in the area of veterinary education. Act as a facilitator for the Accelerated Graduate Entry Veterinary Programme, which uses a problem‑based approach to learning. Qualifications and experience
Hold a veterinary degree, be an experienced veterinarian and RCVS registered. Committed to teaching excellence and scholarship across all areas. Experience and commitment to training the next generation of veterinary surgeons and nurses. Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating new teaching and assessment initiatives. Hybrid working is available, as teaching commitments allow. Please note that for internal candidates this role will be offered as a secondment, subject to agreement with your current line manager. Contract type: Fixed term for 12 months (05/01/2026 – 04/01/2027) or earlier return of the postholder from maternity leave / secondment opportunity for internal applicants. Work pattern: Part‑time / 0.6 FTE. Grade: Grade J / Pathway 3. Salary: £43,482 – £50,253 plus veterinary allowances where applicable. School/Unit: Bristol Veterinary School.
