Now Hiring: Environmental Scientist / Asbestos Inspector – Environmental Compliance Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (Field-Based across NYC & Five Boroughs) Pay Rate: $30–$35/hour About the Role
Join a growing environmental team working on high-impact NYC agency projects. We’re hiring for a hybrid role that combines responsibilities of an Environmental Scientist and Asbestos Inspector, ideal for professionals passionate about public health, environmental compliance, and fieldwork. Responsibilities
Conduct environmental field investigations, sampling, and inspections. Perform lead-based paint and asbestos inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Prepare detailed inspection reports and project documentation. Ensure compliance with EPA, HUD, NYS Department of Health, and other regulatory standards. Assist in project planning, data evaluation, and report preparation under senior staff guidance. Maintain accurate field records and communicate findings to project managers and clients. Adhere to health, safety, and quality standards during field operations. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or related field. 2+ years of field or lab experience in environmental inspections. 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (required). Current NYS Asbestos Inspector or EPA Lead Inspector license (in good standing). Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with lead-safe work practices and environmental sampling methods. Experience using field inspection software and data collection tools. NYS Asbestos Inspector certification (if not already held). Employee Value Proposition

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
