Senior Project Manager, Human Centered Weather Forecasts

University of Chicago . The Human Centered Weather Forecasts (HCF) initiative aims to expand access to weather forecasts in low- and middle-income countries. The initiative will develop novel techniques to produce forecasts tailored to adaptation needs, disseminate results to policymakers and institutions, and strengthen global forecasting systems. Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day project activities ensuring tasks are completed on time and aligned with project goals. Manage project communications including drafting support materials for policy makers (briefing documents, presentations, and reports), develop communications plans, and coordinate messaging across stakeholders, in close coordination with faculty leads. Support fundraising efforts. Support faculty leads and collaborate with project partners to prepare for events and engagements; coordinate across stakeholders to support smooth communication and collaboration. Assist in synthesizing research findings and translating them for policy, practitioners and general audiences. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; assemble and lead a project team, assign responsibilities, identify resources, and develop schedules for timely completion. Track progress, conduct analysis, and facilitate project meetings. Perform other related work as needed. Qualifications
Education Minimum: a college or university degree in a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field (economics, public policy, etc.). Work Experience Minimum: 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline (knowledge and skills). Certifications / Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated track record of managing complex projects with diverse stakeholders. Understanding of impact evaluation, economics and statistics, agriculture, weather forecasting and government program implementation. Ability to work independently and enlist support of other teams within the organization. Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Experience / Competencies Prioritize effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team. Working Conditions
Hybrid position with an expected 3 days on campus per week; willingness to flexibly come into the office as needed. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed for responsibilities. Application Documents
