Role: Sr. Software Engineer
Location: Westlake, TX
Duration: Full-Time
Job Type: Hybrid (50% remote 50% on-site)
Job Description Scope of work:
Back End: Java Spring, some Lambda's or API written in TS NodeJS
Database:
Oracle and DynamoDB
Cloud:
AWS needed - Core services (Ec2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, EKS, Route 53)
IaC:
Terraform - some infra without template
CI/CD:
Docker, EKS, Jenkins
Back end SW development and native cloud engineering (AWS). Effectively a strong Java Spring developer with strong Core AWS and some IaC (via terraform / cloudformation). Strong understanding of Ec2, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, Route 53, S3, Step functions.
The Expertise and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science / Engineering field
6+ years of software development experience
Proven experience with sophisticated architectural builds and technology initiatives
Passion for technology and can stay on top of the newest technology trends
Highly motivated teammate with strong communication, and organization skills
Experience working in agile development environment
Hands on experience in Test Driven Development
Experience implementing solutions using the following technologies:
Application development on Public Cloud - AWS Managed Services, ECS, EC2, EKS, Serverless Framework/Lambda, API Gateway, Step Function, S3, ALB, Route53
Containerization technology like Docker (deployed on ECS, EKS)
Experiecne with Database: Oracle, NoSQL Database (DynamoDB)
Repository Management – Github/Bitbucket
Nice to have experience:
DevOps CI/CD tools like Terraform, Jenkins
Develop/Implement automated test cases using BDD, TDD testing framework (JEST, Cucumber, Mocha, Selenium, Istanbul)
Good understanding of Digital Certificate management
This is a 60/40 or 70/30 back end to cloud engineering. Priority is Java Spring development in Native AWS infra. Terraform pref (CloudFormation is a secondary) - some NodeJS for API / Lambda.
