Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary Regal Care at Glen Ridge, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to oversee all aspects of Human Resources, Payroll, and Labor Reconciliation. The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the facility’s leadership team, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws, and maintaining an engaged, high-performing workforce dedicated to quality resident care.
Key Responsibilities Human Resources
Serve as the primary on-site HR contact for employees and management.
Administer employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary processes in accordance with company policies.
Manage new hire onboarding, orientation, and benefits enrollment.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files.
Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, including wage and hour, FMLA, and ADA regulations.
Support recruitment efforts and coordinate with department heads to fill open positions promptly.
Conduct training and assist with employee engagement initiatives.
Payroll
Process and review bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely in accordance with company procedures.
Verify employee timecards and ensure proper coding of hours, PTO, and differentials.
Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies in collaboration with the corporate HR/Payroll department.
Ensure payroll compliance with wage laws, union contracts (if applicable), and company policy.
Labor Reconciliation
Review and reconcile labor hours against budgets and schedules.
Work closely with department managers to track labor utilization and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Identify and report labor variances or trends that impact financial performance.
Prepare and submit regular labor, hiring and turnover reports to regional management.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2–4 years of HR and payroll experience, preferably in healthcare or skilled nursing.
Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and payroll practices.
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Empeon (Preferred), Kronos, ADP, or similar).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
Work Environment This position is based on-site at the nursing facility. Regular interaction with staff and residents occurs in a professional healthcare environment that prioritizes compassion, compliance, and teamwork.
