8X5 Day (United States of America) As a Chaplain, you will provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff in an assigned clinical area and participate in the mentorship of the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. You will serve the ministry by offering pastoral care, spiritual support, and emotional support to patients and families, and be responsible for on‑call duty and hospital rounding. Bachelor’s Degree, Masters of Divinity or Equivalent. Minimum of four (4) units of ACPE‑accredited Clinical Pastoral Education. Ability to relate to people of all ages, all religions, cultures and ethnic groups. Ordination and/or endorsement from an appropriate religious body (completed or in process). 1 year of hospital ministry experience. Job Responsibilities
Participate in the ministry of the department by providing pastoral care, spiritual support, and emotional support to patients and families through regular rounding, clinical assignments and responding to all hospital codes. Mentor the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. Provide staff support through regular rounding, organized support programs, and debriefings. Coordinate and facilitate the release and transport of deceased bodies to appropriate agencies. Provide grief support and counseling as appropriate to deceased’s family and friends. Interface with external agencies/organizations inclusive of funeral homes, Medical Examiners, Organ and Tissue donation, community support groups, religious organizations. Assist in locating and contacting next of kin for patients arriving in ED via ambulance. Collaborate with local religious leaders, chaplain volunteers, visiting clergy and spiritual caregivers. Participate in other pastoral and administrative duties as assigned under the direction of the clinical manager. About Methodist Dallas Medical Center
