Métier is a modern luxury leather goods house that uniquely unites purposeful design with the highest quality Italian craftsmanship. Founded in 2017, the London-based maison recently opened its debut New York location, an artfully designed concept store in Soho. The assistant store manager will play an important role in establishing and upholding the brand’s excellent customer service, growing new and existing client relationships, and overseeing daily store operations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in luxury retail. Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Relationship Building Build and manage a high-performing team of Client Advisors. Lead by example in delivering discreet, elevated service. Mentor team members through daily feedback, reviews, and ongoing development. Champion brand values on the floor, ensuring all staff embody the tone, style, and standards of the company. Develop and execute a boutique-level clienteling strategy, focused on long-term relationship-building and high-touch service. Personally manage top-tier clients, offering a personalised, appointment-led approach. Host private appointments, events, and activations - cultivating a sense of intimacy, trust, and discovery. Partner with the London team on client development strategy and CRM goals. Sales Performance Participate in the store’s commercial success by driving sales, managing KPIs, and ensuring excellence in execution. Analyse data and performance trends to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions. Team Collaboration & Store Leadership Mentor and lead the team members, promoting a high-performing, collaborative environment. Lead by example in service, styling, tone of voice, and visual presentation. Work closely with the brand’s London-based retail team to ensure alignment in strategy, tone, and training. Act as a bridge between HQ and the NYC team, sharing insights, feedback, and local intelligence. Participate in product training, cultural moments, and ongoing cross-market initiatives. Store Operations Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, reporting, inventory, and back-of-house management. Ensure the boutique is always presented to the highest standards in visual merchandising, cleanliness, and product storytelling. Salary The range for this position is a base salary of $70k to $80k + Bonus Structure. Actual rates are determined based on individual experience. This is currently a seasonal position, with the opportunity to be extended beyond a four-month contract.
