Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead and oversee critical financial processes within our organization. This role involves managing month-end close activities, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger, and preparing financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong banking background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to lead a team effectively.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for preparing & posting journal entries including callback
- Responsible for GL suspense correction daily and follow up on any suspense items
- Review & Prepare daily CD Maturity & Renewal report
- Review Unposted GL, Application Exception report & GL Balancing report
- Performs daily and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
- Prepares monthly general ledger journal entries and assists with the closing of month-end
- Perform monthly statement reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries for SBA Loan Sales, SBA Deferred Fee & Cost
- Coordinate interest wire preparation & renew notice to branch for State CDs
- Provide direct accounting assistance to Controller
- Complies fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Code of Conduct, and etc.). Must complete all required training.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be detail oriented
- Strong PC skills, ability to work with large spreadsheets and analyze data
- Strong communication and customer service skills-can comfortably interact with vendors, customers and employees at all levels of the organization
- Success in multitasking in a fast-paced environment and in task ownership
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience- Banking experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
