The Cyber Readiness Engineer supports mission readiness by coordinating cybersecurity requirements with operational needs. Responsibilities

Design and implement security measures and simulations to test incident response readiness. Conduct penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in the network and system. Monitor and manage security measures to ensure compliance with industry standards. Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies to effectively mitigate risks. Collaborate with IT teams to create robust security architectures and ensure data protection. Participate in change management processes to implement security controls and best practices. Prepare for and support compliance inspections using frameworks like CCRI, ESM, NIST, and STIGs. Assist in internal audits and remediation efforts. Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols for security operations. Coordinate with different teams within the organization to ensure software, hardware, and network security. Respond to and mitigate incidents and security threats, performing digital forensics and incident response when necessary. Collaborate with team to tailor DevSecOps frameworks to government-specific security, policy and operation environments. Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure code effectiveness and quality, as well as providing team members with the ability to review code entering production. Lead organizational transformation toward Agile, Kanban, and DevSecOps practices within government mission environments. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between cyber, software, infrastructure, and policy teams to adopt DevSecOps-aligned workflows. Promote the use of modern, cloud-native development tools aligned with the Government’s enterprise cloud and digital initiatives. Automate routine tasks leveraging scripting and programming tools like Python, Java, etc. Help drive initiatives to modernize and automate cybersecurity processes, tools, and documentation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, IT, or business-related programs 4+ years of experience in cyber operations or readiness roles 3+ years’ experience supporting DoD or federal programs is highly desirable SAFe, Scrum Master, or DevOps-related certifications required. Agile Scrum Certifications desired Cybersecurity certifications like CISSP, CISA, or CISM are desired Must have active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud security architectures. Strong background in coaching Agile and DevSecOps methodologies within enterprise environments Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD platforms Experience in interpreting data and presenting analysis and recommendations to management Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) and hybrid cloud environments Experience with DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD security integration. Experience in security systems (firewalls, IDS, anti-virus, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.) Experience with network security and monitoring tools Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols Familiarity with web technologies and related protocols Knowledge of cloud security best practices Excellent interpersonal communication, facilitation, and leadership skills to coordinate teams and communicate with stakeholders Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines Ability to work independently and in a team; collaborate, innovate, and drive continuous improvement Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required Ability to travel up to 10% Growth and Benefits
