Job Summary The Mold Technician assists in mold remediation and restoration projects by performing inspections, containment setup, removal, cleaning, and documentation of affected areas. This role is responsible for ensuring that all mold removal work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mold remediation in residential and commercial properties following established safety and cleaning protocols.
Set up and maintain containment barriers, negative air machines, and dehumidifiers.
Remove and dispose of mold-contaminated materials (e.g., drywall, insulation, flooring) properly.
Clean and disinfect affected areas using approved antimicrobial solutions and equipment.
Operate restoration equipment such as air scrubbers, HEPA vacuums, and moisture meters.
Assist with moisture inspections, and documentation as directed by the Project Manager or Lead Technician.
Maintain accurate job site records, including before-and-after photos and daily progress logs.
Adhere to IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification) guidelines.
Ensure proper PPE (personal protective equipment) use and safe handling of chemicals and contaminated materials.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and occasionally with property owners or insurance adjusters.
Support other restoration work such as water damage mitigation and structural drying when needed.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in mold remediation, environmental cleanup, or restoration services preferred.
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Certifications (not required):
IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT)
Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT)
