Director of Sales – MediaCo Holdings (WBLS & Hot 97 Cluster, NYC) About Us :

MediaCo Holdings owns and operates WBLS and Hot97, two iconic NYC radio brands known for their influence, broad audience reach, and cultural significance. We innovate in audio broadcasting, streaming, podcasting, and events, and are seeking a dynamic sales leader to drive revenue growth and shape the future of our audio platforms. Role Overview :

Lead the sales team across WBLS and Hot97—including broadcast, digital, podcasting, mobile, events, OTT, and social media. Develop forward-thinking sales strategies, achieve top-line revenue goals, build strong client relationships, and mentor a high-performing team in a competitive media environment.

Key Responsibilities Revenue Leadership & Strategy

Own and surpass yearly revenue targets across audio and digital channels.

Design and implement detailed sales plans with clear, measurable goals—covering broadcast, streaming, podcasting, digital, experiential marketing, and social media.

Forecast revenue, track weekly metrics, and adjust strategies to stay on pace.

Team Leadership & Culture

Manage and coach Sales Managers, Account Executives, and support staff; foster talent development and promote a culture of high achievement.

Recruit, retain, and develop top sales talent; encourage mentorship and growth.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Building

Develop and maintain high-value partnerships with current and prospective advertisers; lead major pitches.

Understand client goals and tailor multimedia packages (broadcast, digital, events) accordingly.

Cross-Platform Integration & Innovation

Promote sales across all platforms : broadcast, podcasts, OTT, mobile, streaming, social media, and live events.

Use data, attribution tools, and media insights to target clients and inform sales strategies.

Market Insight & Competitive Analysis

Stay updated on market trends and competitor moves to spot new opportunities.

Adjust pricing and packages to remain competitive and maximize revenue.

Budget & Performance Oversight

Oversee departmental budgets, forecasts, and P&L management.

Ensure accurate sales reporting, CRM use, and operational discipline within the team.

Required Qualifications

7–10+ years in media sales leadership, ideally in radio, audio, or digital platforms, with at least 5 years managing teams.

Demonstrated success in surpassing sales targets in multi-platform media settings.

Strong leadership and coaching experience, with a proven ability to grow and manage sales teams.

Analytical mindset—comfortable with analytics, attribution models, CRM, and media insights.

Excellent strategic, negotiation, and presentation skills; ambitious spirit.

Deep knowledge of audio trends : broadcast radio, streaming, podcasts, and digital audio.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field; MBA preferred.

Preferred Attributes & Bonuses
