Overview
Transplant Nephrologist – Northwell Health Northwell Health’s Division of Nephrology is seeking Transplant Nephrologists to join the Northwell Health Transplant Institute located at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, NY. The position is clinical with teaching responsibilities and research opportunities. There is also an opportunity as a director for strategic outreach for qualified individuals. The Northwell Health Transplant Institute includes a rapidly growing kidney transplant program serving Long Island and the NY metropolitan area, with a robust heart, lung, and liver transplant program. The transplant nephrologist will join a team of 4 transplant nephrologists and a faculty of over 20 general nephrologists and a long-standing general nephrology fellowship program. The division is known for expertise in clinical research in kidney transplantation, dialysis, anemia and hyperkalemia, outcomes research, COVID-related AKI, onconephrology and glomerular diseases. • Provide clinical transplant nephrology care as part of a multi-disciplinary transplant institute. • Contribute to teaching and education within the nephrology and transplant programs. • Engage in research activities related to kidney transplantation, dialysis, and related areas. • Participate in strategic outreach and leadership opportunities for interested and qualified individuals. • Collaborate with a team that includes transplant nephrologists and general nephrology faculty to support program growth and outcomes. Qualifications
• Candidates should have completed U.S.-based internal medicine residency training and general nephrology fellowship, and an advanced year in an AST-certified renal transplant fellowship. • Demonstrated high performance and scientific potential; evaluated on academic accomplishments, clinical training, enthusiasm, and dedication to transplant nephrology. • Northwell Health is supportive of visa candidates.
