Overview The

Northwell Transplant Institute

is seeking a full-time,

Transplant Nephrologist

to join an established team of dedicated transplant nephrologists located at North Shore University Hospital on Long Island, NY. The Northwell Health Transplant Institute boasts one of the fastest growing kidney transplant programs in the country which services Long Island and the NY metropolitan area. In addition to a kidney transplant program with nationally recognized outcomes, there are robust heart, lung, and liver transplant programs. The transplant nephrologist will be joining a team of 4+ transplant nephrologists and collaborate with a faculty of over 20 general nephrologists known for its expertise in clinical research in kidney transplantation, dialysis, anemia and hyperkalemia, outcomes research, COVID-related AKI, onconephrology and glomerular diseases.

About the Institute The

Northwell Transplant Institute

offers world class organ transplant care for adults with organ failure in need of a new heart, lung, kidney or liver, and children in need of a new heart or kidney. Additionally, the Transplant Institute currently offers the only pediatric heart transplant program on Long Island as well as an established pediatric kidney transplant program. The Institute’s committed and highly trained team of medical and surgical transplant specialists use innovative and collaborative approaches to improve outcomes and access to transplantation for patients with all stages of endorgan failure. Transplant procedures are performed at two top-ranked hospitals with advanced surgical capabilities and specialty trained staff – North Shore University Hospital and Cohen Children’s Medical Center. The Transplant Institute has an expansive network of 40+ office locations to enable access for patients close to home.

Qualifications

Completed a US-based Internal Medicine residency training plus general Nephrology fellowship training

Advanced year in an AST-certified renal transplant fellowship

Demonstrated the highest level of clinical performance and scientific potential

At least 1-year post-fellowship experience

Interest in Living Donor operations/service welcome but not required
